At a very early age it was clear to everybody
in his life that Daniel Willans had a flare
for illustration. When sketching and colouring
like any other child does in there early days,
Daniel’s talents in art were not overlooked.
The people around him recognised his exceptional
skills and encouraged him to take his talents
to a professional level.
Watching programs such as Bob Ross’s ‘the
joy of painting’ prompted Daniel to begin
a career with oil paintings, concentrating
in particular with landscape paintings. At
the early age of eleven he remarkably held
his own art exhibition at a local community
centre.
As his skills matured so did his knowledge
of professional techniques and mediums, over
the years experimenting in a large array of
styles, and is still striving to improve these
to this day.
Daniel Willans enjoys all aspects of art,
but openly admits that the larger wall murals
are something he really enjoys undertaking.
The pure scale to which a large mural can
produce a visual appeal to an otherwise dull
area gives an unprecedented level of satisfaction.
Daniel understands that a piece of artwork
can provide huge sentimental value to almost
anybody and this is why the Personal Portrait
is also one of Daniels personal favourites.
When producing a portrait of a family, pet,
or possession, such as a house or car, the
recipients reaction provides the young artist
with a warmth that money can’t buy.
Being gifted with a paintbrush has led Daniel
to become a jack of all trades. Painting and
